  • A detailed ground-gravity survey has begun at the Arden Zinc Project in South Australia
  • The high-resolution survey will cover three highly-prospective target areas at the Ragless Range and Radford Creek prospects
  • The survey will potentially show high-grade zinc mineral smithsonite
  • The Company also continues to advance the Torrens East Project and will provide updates in the coming months

Auroch Minerals Limited has initiated a ground-gravity survey at its Arden Project near Port Augusta, South Australia. The survey will cover two highly-prospective target areas of the Ragless Range prospect and a third target area at the Radford Creek prospect.

The Arden Project is a large under-unexplored area of 1,664 square km of sedimentary-exhalative (SEDEX) mineralisation. Exploration in 2018 unearthed promising prospects for large scale copper and zinc deposits. Infill sampling from last year’s drill programme at the Ragless Range drill-holes, found high-grade zinc mineralisation including 3.65m at 15.47 per cent Zn from 62.15m. Drill hole RRDD007 had over 50 metres of significant zinc mineralisation.

Over the last six months, Auroch’s exploration team have systematically mapped and collated geochemistry data at each of the key prospect areas of the Arden project.

The data has shown two highly-anomalous areas over 1,000ppm Zn that follow the prospective geological formation over several kilometres of strike. Both of these areas are close to RRDD007 and are likely to represent extensions to the high-grade zinc mineralisation.

There are strong geological similarities with the Flinders Project, which also is known for its high-grade zinc deposits. Total mineral resources in the Flinders Project area currently stand at 972,000 tonnes at 29.8 per cent zinc metal, containing almost 300,000 tonnes zinc metal.

Due to the similarities and the close proximity to RRDD007, exploration of the Ragless Range and Radford Creek areas are a priority. The ground-gravity survey is currently underway.

Aside from its work at Arden, Auroch’s focus is also on its wholly-owned Torrens East Copper Project which is a large exploration project in the world-class Olympic Dam copper-gold area.
