Good Afternoon and welcome to HotCopper Highlights for Week 28 of the year, I’m Jon Davidson. In this segment the stocks you were watching and discussing the most on the HotCopper forums, starting with the most viewed.

It was a good day to be a Rare Earths stock on Friday. Iluka, along with Lynas Rare Earths and a basket of other rare earth juniors shot up after the US government moved to buy a 15% stake in a Las Vegas based rare earth miner – leading to hopes we might see similar action here at home.

Elsewhere, Trigg Minerals caught eyes earlier this week after it issued a trading halt relating to its announcement disclosing the acquisition of a US antimony project back in May of 2019. With that announcement not giving away anything, it attracted a lot of attention.

Finally, solar panel window glass makers ClearVue caught a lot of eyes when the company announced a board reshuffle. The company has long had an ESG value prop considered full of potential – so long as builders want to use its solar panel glass windows on things like skyscrapers – but momentum in the last year has stalled with returns down 75%.

So that was the most viewed: but what about the most discussed?

Botanix Pharma had the threads absolutely humming with life after the rare sweat condition focused biotech came out with a revenue update far below its contemporaneous market cap; hundreds of users took to the boards to debate what it means for future valuations.

Elsewhere, Mineral Resources once again made the boards but this time for more than just the usual volatility – we’ve learned that the company might be second guessing its decision to boot controversial founder Chris Ellison after all, with that decision about as divisive as you’d expect. Founders die hard, just look at WiseTech, but especially if you’re dealing with WA mining personalities.

Finally, Droneshield made the most discussed, especially driven by the fact it hit a new all time high on Friday approaching $2.80 a share. But as I’ve noticed in this segment more than once, much like the last time DRO ran this hard, its market cap and revenues are very, very far apart – leaving many to wonder how long this can last.

That’s HotCopper Highlights for this week, I’m Jon Davidson, have a great weekend and we’ll see you on Monday.
