  • Tesoro Resources (TSO) has received further high-grade gold results from the Coquetas prospect at the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile
  • Significantly, one hole intersected up to 22.21 grammes per tonne of gold
  • These holes intersected the CC500 mineralised structure, which has previously reported thick gold
  • The CC500 fault zone is a high-grade, gold-bearing zone, cross-cutting the El Zorro Tonalite and hosting sedimentary rocks
  • This 11-hole drilling program is now complete, with results pending for two holes and expected in the next four to six weeks
  • Tesoro Resources is up a healthy 10.7 per cent, while shares are trading for 6.2 cents each

Tesoro Resources (TSO) has received further wide high-grade assay results from three holes drilled at the Coquetas prospect at the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

Results include; 34.73 metres at 2.94 g/t gold from 187.27 metres including; 15 metres at 5.99g/t gold from 189.00 metres; and 2.70 metres at 22.21g/t gold from 197.00 metres, 68.52 metres at 0.47g/t gold from 21 metres including; 9 metres at 1.34 g/t gold from 36.00 metres; and 5 metres at 1.23g/t gold from 74.00 metres.

The third hole intercepted 41.17 metres at 1.38 g/t gold from 78 metres including; 14.17 metres at 3.25g/t gold from 105 metres; and 5.32 metres at 6.54 g/t gold from 105.00 metres.

These holes intersected the CC500 mineralised structure, which has previously reported thick gold intercepts.

The CC500 fault zone is a high-grade gold-bearing zone cross-cutting the El Zorro Tonalite and hosting sedimentary rocks.

The high-grade mineralisation occurs within a broad lower grade envelope up to 200 metres wide, with previous drilling and surface sampling defining gold grades between 0.50g/t and 1.50g/t.

High-grade gold mineralisation within this fault zone is associated with quartz veins, breccias, intense sheeted veining and lamprophyre dykes.

A number of similar northwest-trending fault zones have been identified at Coquetas and have been drilled during the current program.

“Drill results from El Zorro continue to impress and we have now delineated a significant high-grade gold zone associated with the CC500 fault. The team has identified multiple repeats of these fault zones which provides significant scope to add additional high-grade mineralisation to any potential resource,” Managing Director Zeff Reeves said.

Tesoro has now completed this phase of drilling. In total, the company drilled 11 holes for 2855.3 metres.

Assay results are pending for holes ZDDH00023 to ZDDH00027 and are expected over the next four to six weeks.

Tesoro Resources is up a healthy 10.7 per cent and shares are trading for 6.2 cents each at 10:29 am AEST.
