3D Resources (DDD) advises a reverse circulation (RC) drill program at the Challenger Gold Project is set to start shortly.
The exploration company is planning to carry out 2000 metres of RC drilling at the site, with work to commence in early June.
The 12-hole drill program will be targeting areas around the periphery of the proposed Challenger Gold open cut mine.
The materials stock also revealed today that it had received permission from the NSW Government to carry out additional drilling.
3D Resources has been cleared to explore the prime targets at its Donkey Hill, Lady Clare, Gibraltar and Sawpit projects.
All of these projects, as well as the Challenger asset, are in the Adelong Goldfield in New South Wales.
The company stated the purpose of this latest approved round of drilling is to expand and upgrade resources as well as to prepare these deposits for detailed mine planning.
To prepare for the upcoming exploration work, DDD has also announced it has appointed geologist Ashley Bennett as the company’s exploration manager.
Chairman Ian Hastings said the new manager will help advance all of the company’s planned exploration work.
“We welcome Ashley to the team as Exploration Manager with confidence that his skills can quickly support our intention to significantly expand the resource base and realise the full potential of this highly prospective area,” he said.
The appointment further bolsters management capability and will allow the Company’s principal geologist and MD to focus on the recommencement of mining and recommissioning of the existing plant,” he added.
DDD shares are trading down 11.1 per cent at 0.4 cents each at 11.45am AEST.
