4DS Memory (4DS) has posted its March quarterly report, spending much of the period focused on its Second Non-Platform Lot of wafers.

The company explained it completed testing on the Second Non-Platform Lot in February, recording the same key memory characteristics results from testing of its First Non-Platform Lot.

Pleasingly, 4DS also reported that 19 of the 21 device wafers were functional — a first for the business.

4DS also began production of the Second Platform Lot at imec in Belgium towards the end of January, with no issues recorded to date.

It said it expects to analyse these wafers in the second quarter, with results likely to be available at the end of June.

In terms of financials, the technology stock ended March with around $5.5 million in cash, slightly down on December’s balance of $6.52 million.

The company’s operating expenses also significantly reduced over the quarter, falling from $1.18 million in December to $986,000 at the end of March.

Looking ahead, 4DS has filed two U.S. patent applications to strengthen its intellectual property portfolio.

The business already has 30 U.S. patents, which are 100 per cent-owned by 4DS after it was granted another patent during the March quarter.

Shares in 4DS Memory are trading up 5.56 per cent at 19 cents per share at 10:45 am AEST.
