New Zealand-based 9 Spokes has received some important accreditation from Microsoft for its recent contract win with Bank of America.

The company develops a business data tracking and analytic software to help small to medium businesses (SMBs) access all their data in one place. Users can connect all their business apps to one centralised platform to help with track performance and make quicker and more informed decisions.

In late August 2019, 9 Spokes landed a contract with Bank of America to help the big bank’s small business customers access the 9 Spokes platform.

Today, 9 Spokes announced to the market that Microsoft has accredited the Bank of America contract with One Commercial Partner co-sell success. This means two things for 9 Spokes.

Firstly, its status as a One Commercial Partner with Microsoft means it has access to additional manpower and resources directly from the tech giant, as opposed to simply being part of Microsoft’s partner ecosystem as a regular partner.

One Commercial Partner status is, essentially, a tick of approval from Microsoft, and becomes particularly handy if a Microsoft partner is creating a customised solution for a client.

Secondly, co-selling is another initiative recently kicked off by Microsoft, and in simple terms means Microsoft jointly takes a partner’s solution to market as a packaged offering.

For 9 Spokes, the One Commercial Partner co-sell success status means the company has garnered some support from Microsoft and strengthened the partnership between the two companies.

Microsoft’s New Zealand One Commercial Director, Sarah Bowden, said partnerships like the one with 9 Spokes are part of a new and exciting era of partnering for the company.

“Microsoft provides a unique platform for partners to scale and accelerate both their growth and reach. It’s been great to see 9 Spokes continue their winning formula offshore and we’re excited about their future co-sell success,” Sarah said.

9 Spokes Co-Founder and CEO Adrian Grant said the accreditation underlines the strength of the company’s partnership with Microsoft.

“To date, our Microsoft IP co-sell status has elevated our credentials with key global banking communities and has helped us enter new markers — most notably in the United States with the Bank of America Contract,” Adrian said.

9 Spokes shares are trading at a 5.26 per cent premium just after midday AEST today, worth 2.1 cents apiece in a $18.98 million market cap.
