A U.S. subsidiary of UUV Aquabotix (UUV) has entered a research and development agreement with the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC).

Over the next three years the subsidiary, Aquabotix Technology Corporation, will work collaboratively with the NUWC on a project related to experimental coordination with swarms.

Ultimately, the goal of this collaboration is to transition the results of U.S. Navy research for public and private sector use.

NUWC has extensive expertise, capabilities and information on swarms, autonomy and unmanned systems which it will bring to the agreement.

Aquabotix will bring its resources, capabilities and technical expertise to transition the results of research and development for public use.

“Aquabotix is thrilled to be embarking on this cooperative research and development effort with the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center,” Aquabotix CEO Whitney Million commented.

“We anticipate this collaborative approach to continued experimentation and ultimate commercialisation of technology will prove to be beneficial to both the U.S. Navy and the Company and will support the joint goal of bringing novel technologies to the private sector,” she continued.

Aquabotix is an underwater robotics company which designs, develops and sells underwater and surface drones with swarming capabilities for commercial, high-end consumers and military applications.

It is the first company to offer commercially-available micro-sized unmanned maritime drones with its SwarmDiver product.

SwarmDivers are micro-sized unmanned swarming and diving vehicles that can be used in a range of water applications from shallow to deep to the surf zone.

Aquabotix has developed multiple different uses from NIGHTLINE for nighttime recovery, EDGE to respond to threats of piracy and militant groups, and STEALTH for covert defence operations.

Aquabotix’s share price is steady today with shares trading for 0.2 cents apiece in a $1.189 million market cap.
