De Grey Mining (DEG) has appointed of Glenn Jardine as the Managing Director.

Glenn is a mining executive with 35 years of experience. De Grey said the appointment came as a result of his strong background in project management, development and operations.

He graduated as a mining engineer from the University of Queensland and is a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AUSIMM).

Previously, Glenn has worked for Goldfields, the Emily Ann and Maggie Hays nickel mines and Lion Ore Australia. Most recently, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Azure Minerals.

Due to the new appointments, De Grey has changed its management structure. Simon Lill will remain Chairman, whilst Peter Hood will become Lead Independent Director on the Board of Directors. Meanwhile, Andy Beckwith will remain as technical director.

“Glenn has impressed at each stage of the interview process and is a tremendous
addition to the team that has brought the company to the stage it is currently at,” Simon said.

“The company looks forward to working with Glenn as it continues to grow with the exciting Hemi discovery amidst the broader Mallina Gold Project,” he added.

De Grey has been updating the market on its Hemi Prospect at Mallina and has seen more promising results, then what the company was expecting.

Glenn will begin in the role on May 4.

De Grey is in the green this morning on the market, up 17.5 per cent and is selling shares at 23.5¢ apiece at 11:04 am AEDT.
