  • Oklo Resources has located a second substantial gold bedrock at its Kouroufing Project in West Mali.
  • Located 20 kilometres from its primary project, Dandoko, Kouroufing covers an area of 90.7 square kilometres of unexplored Proterozoic Birimian greenstone.

During a 2018 exploration Oklo announced that a geochemical drill covering 25 per cent of the Kouroufing area uncovered a six kilometre corridor with gold grades of 14.40 grams per tonne.

Recent drills intersected significant widths of gold mineralisation including: 34 metres at 1.12 grams per tonne and 16 metres at 11.07 grams per tonne.

In early 2019, Oklo announced results from auger drilling, which covered the remaining unexplored areas, which successfully outlined several new trends such as the Kome Target.

Primary AC drilling at Kome tested auger gold anomalies along six wide spaced traverses covering a 1.4 kilometre length.

The holes were drilled at an average depth of 54 metres and a maximum of 90 metres and these holes generally found greywacke, volcanic sediments and graphite shales.

The drilling successfully encountered high-grade gold mineralisation up to 2 metres at 18.20 grams per tonne and low-grade at 22 metres at 0.90 grams per tonne. Follow up drilling is planned due to the wide range of results.

The nine hole drill completed at Kouroufing also encountered high-grade gold mineralisation up to one metre at 20.90 grams per tonne and also low-grade at 18 metres at 0.95 grams per tonne from 45 metres downwards.

Gold mineralisation is a result of anomalous arsenic, localised shearing and a well defined IP chargability and resistivity anomaly. Further drilling will need to be undertaken if the high results are confined to the zones of quartz veining and whether potential exists for further high-grade results.
