Andromeda Metals (ADN) has intersected significant kaolin at its Mount Hope Halloysite-Kaolin Project in South Australia.

Mount Hope is located approximately 80 kilometres northwest of Port Lincoln and 160 kilometres southeast of the Carey’s Well Halloysite-Kaolin deposit in South Australia.

The 1400 metre air core (AC) drilling program began in late March and was designed to gather new material for test work and to determine a new mineral resource estimate that is compliant with the JORC 2012 Code.

The current historic resource estimate sits at 12.26 million tonnes. This was outlined by Abaleen Minerals in 1973.

During the drilling, white kaolin intersections measuring 20 metres thick were found in the southern zone.

A total of 40 AC holes for 1383 metres were drilled with 174 composite samples collected for XRF and XRD analysis, as well as reflectance testing, in order to determine both kaolinite and halloysite content. Analysing this work is expected to take up to two months to complete.

These compelling observations suggest the kaolin mineralised zone remains open to the south and will require follow up drilling.

Shares in Andromeda remain flat this morning, trading for 3.6 cents each at 9:58 am AEST.
