Element 25 (E25) has begun a water bore drilling program at its wholly-owned Butcherbird Manganese Project in Western Australia.

Butcherbird is considered a world-class project and has more than 263 million tonnes of manganese ore in current JORC resources.

Element 25 completed a water exploration drilling program in the March 2020 quarter. Exploration identified a prospective groundwater supply area to the southeast of the mining lease area. Two aquifers were identified, a shallow aquifer in near-surface calcretes and a deep aquifer in palaeochannel sands.

The company will drill the two previously identified production bores to conduct pump tests. The hope is that drilling will confirm the selected area has the capacity to sufficiently process water for the project’s processing plant.

This program is considered to be a critical portion of de-risking the project and will allow the delivery team to meet the timeline that has been set for first manganese concentrate production.

In May, Element 25 completed a pre-feasibility study to develop the deposit as a manganese concentrate producer for export.

Shares remain in the grey and are trading for 41 cents each at 11:34 am AEST.
