Legend Mining (LEG) has received further positive results from follow-up diamond drilling at the Mawson prospect, within the Rockford Project in WA.

Assays returned from two holes have yielded intersections grading up to 3.05 per cent nickel, 2.32 per cent copper and 0.19 per cent cobalt.

Awesome Mawson

The Mawson prospect remains open to the southwest, north-east and east, and the company is planning further analysis to generate targets ahead future step-out drilling.

The most recent results were aimed at following up on the mineralised zones previously reported, confirming the target to consist of high nickel-copper grades and widths.

Legend Managing Director, Mark Wilson, says the new assays are the best results for the prospect so far.

“The grades of the 4.5-metre intercept of three per cent nickel, 2.3 per cent copper and 0.19 per cent cobalt in hole 18 are the best grades to date at Mawson,” Mark said.

“The other assays for this hole, and hole 15 generally, add to the robust grades and widths reported at Mawson,” he added.

Next steps

Legend is planning the current 3000-metre drilling program as it goes, based on results received and previous data.

The drilling will continue to target known sulphide mineralisation, geochemical anomalies and gravity features.

Ongoing infill aircore drilling across Mawson is also assisting in gaining an understanding of the mineralised footprint at the prospect.

Legend will continue with the current programs. So far, it seems the company is finding what it’s looking for.

Legend Mining shares are trading 3.7 per cent higher today at 14 cents each as at 11:05 am AEST.
