Los Cerros (LCL) is set to begin a 2500-metre diamond drilling program at its Quinchia Gold Project in Columbia in late July.

This program will begin at the Tesorito porphyry and then move to targets at the Chuscal and Miraflores prospects.

Previous exploration at Tesorito returned results of 384 metres at 1.01g/t gold from 16 metres, including 29.3 metres at 1.9g/t gold from 136.75 metres in hole TS-DH-02, and 253.1 metres at 1.01g/t gold from 2.9 metres, including 64 metres at 1.67g/t gild from 144 metres in hole TS-DH-07.

Drilling will initially focus on holes TS-DH-02 and TS-DH-07 before moving to test a newly defined gold-molybdenum soil anomaly.

Initially, Los Cerros will use conventional drilling equipment until its own rig arrives in Columbia in October.

“With full support from Ausino, the company has decided to commence drilling sooner via a Colombian drilling services provider while we wait for our own equipment to arrive,” Managing Director Jason Stirbinskis commented.

“The encouraging work of our Columbian geologists and international consulting experts has generated a good number of exciting targets to be drill tested,” he said.

“The first two holes will provide additional geological data to fine-tune several deeper porphyry targets,” Jason added.

Los Cerros has ended the day 21.4 per cent in the green with shares trading for 5.1 cents each in a $10.90 million market cap.
