Venture Minerals (VMS) has intersected 33 metres of dispersed to semi-massive sulphides at the Orcus Prospect within its high-grade volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) drill target.

The VMS drill target lies within Golden Grove North which is situated 370 kilometres north-northeast of Perth in Western Australia.

Golden Grove North spans over 13 kilometres and is the prime VMS occurrence in the Archean Yilgarn Craton of the state.

The aim of drilling at Orcus was to target mineralisation below historical hole WRC054, which intersected shallow VMS mineralisation along strike and between two other VMS targets.

Best results from this hole include 22 metres at 0.76g/t gold, 0.64 per cent copper and 1.3 per cent zinc from 38 metres to 60 metres, including 10 metres at 1.0g/t gold, 0.74 per cent copper and 2.1 per cent zinc from 50 metres to 60 metres.

A visual interpretation of the rock chips from Orcus has verified the presence of copper and zinc mineralisation.

Samples are now being prepared for laboratory analysis to confirm the observed mineralisation.

“The first drill hole at Orcus has had immediate success with a strong intersection of sulphides containing copper and zinc,” Managing Director Andrew Radonjic said.

“Venture eagerly awaits the assays to confirm the highly likely addition of both gold and potential silver mineralisation as it moves onto the next drill holes at Orcus, the company’s highest priority VMS target at Golden Grove North,” he added.

Venture is up 6.06 per cent on the market, with shares trading for 3.5 cents each at 12:06 pm AEDT.
