Golden Mile Resources (G88) has appointed James Merrillees as its new Managing Director.

James is a professional geologist with over 20 years of experience in the minerals exploration industry. His career has covered all aspects of capital raising, project generation and evaluation in gold, base metals and bulk commodities.

Recently, he was the Managing Director for Cygnus Gold (CY5), where he launched the company onto the ASX, with a successful initial public offering of $6 million. James will be commencing his new role next Wednesday, November 25.

“It is great to find someone of James’s calibre and experience to work with the
Board to unlock the exploration potential at the Benalla, Darlot and Yuinmery projects, as well as source complementary projects, all to convert exploration success into shareholder value,” Chairman Rhod Grivas said.

James is excited to join the Golden Mile team as it looks to drive into the next phase.

“I am delighted to be supported by an experienced board with a track record of success in the resources industry,” he told the market.

Last week, the company found two new gold targets at its Yuinmery Project in Western Australia, following a recent soil sampling.

On market close for the day, Golden Mile is up 1.85 per cent and is trading for 5.5 cents per share.
