Impact Minerals (IPT) has confirmed high-grade platinum group element (PGE) mineralisation at its Plat Central prospect.

Plat Central lies within the Broken Hill project which is situated in the richly mineralised Curnamona Province of NSW.

Best results include one metre at 22.7g/t PGE, 3.3 per cent nickel, 1 per cent copper and 23g/t silver from 62 metres, and one metre at 6.3g/t PGE, 1.2 per cent copper, 0.8 per cent nickel and 19g/t silver from 58 metres.

These assays both confirm and are in line with expectations from measurements made with hand-held x-ray fluorescent (XRF) analysis.

Furthermore, the high-grade mineralisation is associated with dispersed to blebby sulphide mineralisation.

These results vary from high-grade to the east, good in the centre, and modest to the west.

Additional drill holes have also been completed 25 metres south and up-dip from the initial line at Plat Central with drilling to the north and down-dip set to begin soon.

Samples have been submitted for analysis with results due in early January.

Drilling is now continuing at the Little Broken Hill Gabbro and results are due shortly, as well as results from the Red Hill and Dora East prospects.

Shares in Impact are up 4.76 per cent this morning, trading at 2.2 cents at 10:37 am AEDT.
