Latin Resources (LRS) has intersected strong results during its maiden first pass and aircore drilling program at the Noombenberry Project in WA.

The company completed 197 holes for 4430 metres, testing the known kaolinite-halloysite occurrence at Noombenberry.

Pleasingly, logging the aircore drill cuttings has confirmed significant intersections of bright, white kaolin up to 50 metres thick.

Additionally, the kaolin was intersected all across the 18-square-kilometre area which was drill tested and also remains open in all directions.

Latin is confident it will be able to extend the known kaolinite occurrence at Noomenberry as far as an additional 15 kilometres.

“Our initial observations from drill cutting are very encouraging, with our logging showing the development of a thick, consistent, flat dipping blanket of bright , white kaolinitic clay across the area of our drill testing, just meters below the surface,” Exploration Manager Tony Greenaway said.

“The geometry and consistency of the kaolinite layer as illustrated in the cross-section will bode well for any potential future development,” he added.

Composite samples from the aircore drilling at Noombenberry will now be sent to labs in Perth and Adelaide to undergo further testing.

The company has also begun planning to generate a maiden mineral resource estimate for the kaolin project, once all results have been received back from the labs.

Following today’s drilling results release, shares in Latin Resources are trading up a solid 18.8 per cent at 3.8 cents each at 10:37 am AEDT.
