Tao Commodities (TAO) has appointed Anastasios Arima as Managing Director, effective March 1.

Current Managing Director Patrick Glovac will step down from this role but will continue to serve as Executive Director.

Based in North America, Anastasios has extensive experience in the development of energy and resource projects in the country.

He is the founder and a Director of Piedmont Lithium and has been influential in identifying and securing its lithium project in North Carolina.

Anastasios is also the founder of Hyperion Metals, which Tao acquired in December 2020. As a result, the company received the Titan Project in Tennessee.

In the Managing Director role, Anastasios will lead Tao with the continued development of the Titan and Milford projects.

He will also bring increased market awareness with U.S.-based retail and institutional investors.

“This is an exciting time for Tao where our team has unique opportunity to solve a critical mineral and metal supply issued facing the U.S.,” Chairman Todd Hannigan said.

“I am delighted Anastasios will lead our team, his experience in developing U.S. natural resource projects makes him ideally suited to accelerate our plans to create a leading independent titanium and rare earths company,” he added.

Furthermore, Mark Connelly will step down from his role of Non-Executive Director to pursue other interests.

Tao is up a slight 0.69 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 72.5 cents at 2:37 pm AEDT.
