  • Kathleen pegmatites are merging with the Mt Mann pegmatites to form a continuous, thick and moderately dipping pegmatite body
  • A total of 307 holes for 48,009 metres has been completed at Kathleen
  • All data is now being looked at independent consultants Optiro Limited and results are expected in early July

Liontown Resources has received all assays from its drilling program at its Kathleen Valley Lithium-Tantalum project, WA.

The latest assays include several new, wide and high-grade lithium intercepts and are consistent with previous results which indicated that the shallow dipping pegmatites at Kathleen are merging with the Mt Mann pegmatites. This will form a continuous, 35-75 metre thick and moderately dipping pegmatite body.

Significant results include 83 metres at 1.5 per cent lithium dioxide from 223 metres and 53 metres at 1.6 per cent lithium dioxide from 389 metres.

Mineralisation remains open to the north west and down dip and has now been defined over a strike of at least 1,000 metres with a depth of 400 metres.

All results have been received by independent resource consultants Optiro Limited and an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) is scheduled for completion in early July 2019.

The updated MRE will be incorporated into future feasibility studies and also a pre-feasibility study which is scheduled for completion in Q4 2019.

Since drilling re-commenced in February 2018, a further 148 reverse circulation holes have been drilled including 30 re-entries for a total of 24,776 metres. This brings the total amount of drilling completed at Kathleen to 307 holes for 48,009 meters.

Kathleen is a high grade lithium deposit located 680 kilometres north east of Perth. A scoping study in January 2019 confirmed the potential for a visible standalone 2Mtpa lithium mining and processing operation.

The study was based on a maiden mineral resource estimate of 21.2 million tonnes at 1.4 percent lithium dioxide and 170ppm tantalum pentoxide.
