NewPeak Metals (NPM) has received encouraging results from the Bergslagen Tungsten Project in Sweden.

The 11,012-hectare project is made up of seven exploration permits, and it lies in the historical tungsten mining field of Bergslagen near the city of Gränesberg.

A recently completed sampling program at the project was undertaken to collect samples from previously explored areas.

This sampling was completed by Swedish consultant company Geovista AB, which has previously worked on tungsten permits and has an extensive background in mineral exploration in Sweden.

Fifty-one samples were collected and underwent multi-element analysis at ALS laboratories in Öjebyn, Sweden.

Up to 2.15 per cent molybdenum, 1.74 per cent zinc, 1.61 per cent copper, 0.5 per cent tungsten and 0.24g/t gold was intersected.

Pleasingly, these results highlight the prospectivity of the area.

NewPeak is now developing a more thorough exploration program to be carried out this year. Results will be reported on as work progresses.

Company shares are steady on the market and are trading at 0.3 cents at 1:21 pm AEDT.
