  • Magnis Energy (MNS) has revealed its team at Imperium3 New York (iM3NY) to lead the production at the New York Lithium-ion Battery Plant
  • Chaitanya Sharma, Tesla’s first engineer at its gigafactory in Nevanda, has been appointed as CEO
  • Among the host of other new appointments, former Vice-President of Duracell USA, Bill Shannon, was named as the new Cheif Operating Officer
  • The plant is said to be on track to begin production late this year and will have the ability to produce 20 and 50 amp-per-hour cells
  • MNS shares have been trading 5.8 per cent higher at 27.5 cents

Magnis Energy (MNS) has revealed the new leadership team at Imperium3 New York (iM3NY) as the company works towards commencing production at the New York Lithium-ion Battery Plant.

Magnis, a company aiming to become a leading global producer of green credentialed lithium-ion battery cells, has a direct and indirect holding of around 58 per cent in iM3NY.

Chaitanya Sharma, an engineer with more than 15 years’ experience in the lithium-ion battery industry. has been named the new CEO of iM3NY. He was the first engineer at Tesla’s gigafactory in Nevanda.

Former Vice President of Duracell USA, Bill Shannon, has been appointed as the new Cheif Operating Officer. His experience in the industry totals more than 20 years, made up primarily of his time at H&T Corporation where he contributed to the start-up of four factories around the world.

Mike Driscoll, who has five decades of experience in the technology industry, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. He has served in various executive and board positions in the U.S. and Asia, and his experience includes founding Technology Application and taking the company public in 1990.

Finally, Dr Priyadarshi Panda a chemical engineer with close to 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry has been appointed as the Vice President of Engineering. He has previously worked at Intel, LAM Research and Applied Materials — all NASDAQ-listed companies.

Magnis has today reaffirmed the iM3NY Lithium-ion Battery Plant is on track to begin production in late 2021.

MNS shares have been trading 5.8 per cent higher at 27.5 cents at 10:37 am AEDT.
