Australian underwater tech developer, Aquabotix has been awarded a $30,500 contract for the purchase of the SwarmDiver system from the United States Navy.

Aquabotix makes and sells underwater commercial and industrial-grade drones for commercial, high-end consumer and military use.

This SwarmDiver product was the first underwater swarming drone available on the market. SwarmDivers are micro-sized unmanned swarming and diving vehicles used for water applications from shallow water to the surf zone.

The drones use communication proto algorithms which can perform temporarily synchronised dives on command from a singular remote location.

Chief Executive Officer Whitney Million is pleased to be working with the United States Navy.

“We are proud to have the opportunity for our product to be considered for operational use and are hopeful that this will lead to more sizeable future opportunities,” she said.
