Decmil Group (DCG) has secured a $25 million contract to upgrade a stretch of the Bruce Highway.

Under the contract from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Decmil will update the roads from Gin Gin to Benaraby, located around 90 kilometres south of Gladstone in Queensland.

The project includes road widening works and safety improvements such as earthworks, minor drainage repairs, pavement works, signage, safety barriers, landscaping and street lighting works.

This contract is on top of Decmil’s current project, a $13.5 million upgrade to the Bruce Highway, from Calliope River to Mt Alma for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR), which is underway.

“Successfully delivering numerous projects for the DTMR and our successful progression of another Bruce Highway contract was a key factor behind Decmil winning this contract,” said Decmil CEO, Dickie Dique.

“It demonstrates our operational efficiency and our growing ability to capitalise on the buoyant pipeline of infrastructure projects in Queensland and Australia more broadly, as our business revitalisation strategy progresses.”

Project works are scheduled to start this month and are set to be completed by late 2022.

Additionally, Decmil Group has announce Peter Thomas will transition from the role of acting Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director to Non-Executive Director from 27 April, following the appointment of Alex Hall to the role of CFO.

Alison Thompson will also resign as company secretary on 31 March, succeeded by Ian Hobson.

Decmil Group is down 2.63 per cent, trading at 55.5 cents at 9:30 am AEDT.
