Prodigy Gold (PRX) has begun a 2000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Reynolds Range Project in the Northern Territory.

Up to 16 RC holes will be drilled across the Katana, Scimitar, Reward and Sabre targets which have shown strong potential to host gold, copper and antimony mineralisation.

A further 11 targets are expected to also be drilled this year.

Katana

The Katana Prospect lies 2.5 kilometres along strike from Reward and previous mapping has indicated the presence of anomalous copper, lead and zinc.

Prodigy will drill one RC hole in the shear zone to confirm the mineralisation.

Scimitar

Previous work at the Scimitar Prospect has identified a strong gold and base metal anomaly associated with moving loop electromagnetic (EM) conductors.

To the east of this conductor is a 1.5-kilometre-long high-grade copper–gold soil and rock chip anomaly.

Seven RC holes will be drilled to test the source of this anomaly.

Reward

The Reward Prospect lies roughly six kilometres southeast of Scimitar and hosts shallow copper-oxide mineralisation as well as abundant azurite, malachite and chalcocite.

An electromagnetic survey identified a conductor 50 metres below the surface and Prodigy will drill a single RC hole to test it.

Sabre

Historical rotary airblast drilling and surface sampling confirmed mineralisation at Sabre spans over 500 metres in length.

RC and diamond drilling then intersected high-grade gold mineralisation with previous work returning results of 17 metres at 3.93g/t gold and 26 metres at 2.73g/t gold.

This work confirmed the presence of two subparallel areas of mineralisation.

Prodigy will drill three RC holes as part of this upcoming program to extends a zone of high-grade mineralisation and an additional four to test for continuity of mineralisation to the south.

“We are very pleased to have drilling underway at our Reynolds Range Project, with this program set to test four exciting targets – all of which have demonstrated strong potential to host copper and gold mineralisation,” the company stated.

“We expect this first round of drilling to be completed later this month and we look forward to providing progress updates in due course,” it added.

Prodigy has ended the day 9.09 per cent in the green with shares trading at 4.8 cents in a $25.54 million market cap.
