Siren Gold (SNG) has intersected visible gold at the Alexander River Project in Reefton, New Zealand.

The company began diamond drilling at the project in September 2020 and drilled 36 holes for 3819 metres.

Results have been received for 28 holes, with hole DDHAX045 intersecting 0.9 metres of quartz reef within a 1.8 metre thick mineralised zone from 30.9 to 32.7 metres with significant visible free gold.

This is the first free gold seen in the Loftus McKay shoot and samples are yet to be analysed.

A second mineralised structure was also intersected in hole AXHHH045 between 5.8 and 16.4 metres.

This zone consisted of a weak to moderately mineralised zone of quartz veins and mineralised greywacke (variety of sandstone).

Previous drilling at the project has returned results of 15 metres at 7.4g/t gold, 1.8 metres at 6.7g/t gold and 2.5 metres at 6.4g/t gold.

If the next phase of drilling yields similar findings, Siren will undertake additional drilling across the Loftus McKay and McVicar West shoots.

Shares in Siren are trading in the grey at 36 cents at 11:20 am AEST.
