Legend Mining (LEG) has received further results from its flagship Mawson nickel-copper-cobalt prospect within the Rockford Project.

The Rockford Project lies within the highly prospective Fraser Range district in Western Australia.

A further nine diamond holes have been drilled since Legend last updated the market with two rigs currently operating.

Drilling is continuing to add knowledge to the existing data and work continuing to grow the intrusion.

Legend will release an updated 3D model in the coming weeks and will be used to predict and target interpreted fertile intrusion.

Best results include 11 metres at 1.02 per cent nickel, 0.54 per cent copper and 0.09 per cent cobalt from 132 metres including 2.94 metres at 1.48 per cent nickel, 0.49 per cent copper and 0.12 per cent cobalt from 136 metres.

Other results include two metres at 1.13 per cent nickel, 0.96 per cent copper and 0.09 per cent cobalt from 144.7 metres.

Downhole transient electromagnetic (DHTEM) surveys are now ongoing to identify new targets.

Managing Director Mark Wilson stated the results are significant and continue to grow the mineralisation at Mawson.

“The significance of results from hole 53 is an eleven-metre intercept of plus one per cent nickel and the presence of massive sulphides several hundred metres from the Mawson discovery zone,” Mr Wilson said.

“Meanwhile the geology and geophysics (DHTEM conductors) from the next nine holes reported in this announcement continues to grow the mineralised footprint of the intrusion — the evolution of the Mawson story.”

Shares in Legend were down a slight 1.01 per cent and trading at 9.8 cents at 11:45 am AEST.
