Zenith Minerals (ZNC) has received the final results from an aircore drilling program at the Split Rocks gold project in Western Australia.

Aircore drilling began in May with 100 holes, for 4732 metres, drilled across five target areas to test new zones of gold mineralisation and extend zones poorly defined by previous drilling.

Drilling was successful in outlining high-grade gold mineralisation at four of the five targets.

Dulcie Far North

Results from Dulcie Far North outline a zone of gold mineralisation one kilometre long and 300 metres wide.

A best result of three metres at 70 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from 44 metres was intersected in hole ZDAC339.

Scott’s Grey

New results from Scott’s Grey include four metres at 4.8g/t gold, eight metres at 4.1g/t gold; and 10 metres at 0.9g/t gold including four metres at 1.6g/t gold.

These results provide strong encouragement for further work.

Dulcie North

Results from Dulcie North outline strong near-surface gold mineralisation that requires follow-up aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

Best new results include 16 metres at 1.3g/t gold including four metres at 2.9g/t gold, four metres at 1.7g/t gold; and four metres at 1.6g/t gold.

Estrella

Drilling was undertaken at Estrella to assess the orientation of the gold mineralisation intersected in an earlier drilling program that returned results of two metres at 9.8g/t gold and one metre at 7.1g/t gold.

Recent drilling tested between these two intersections and results confirm a shallow dip of mineralisation with a best result of four metres at 0.9g/t gold.

Dulcie West

Zenith encountered no significant results while drilling at Dulcie West.

Chairman Peter Bird is pleased with the results as they highlight the prospectivity of Split Rocks.

“These new gold results continue to demonstrate the prospective nature of the Split Rocks Project,” Mr Bird said.

“The drilling program had two aims both of which were successfully achieved – targeted drilling to assist in understanding the orientation and continuity of the mineralised structures such as at Scott’s Grey and Estrella and secondly extensional drilling to scope out the extents of mineralisation such as at Dulcie North and Dulcie Far North.”

Infill and extensional aircore drilling will now be undertaken at Dulcie Far North, Scott’s Grey and Dulcie North to follow up the new results.

Zenith has ended the day 3.85 per cent in the green with shares trading at 27 cents in a $76.53 million market cap.
