Challenger Exploration (CEL) has struck more than 62 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) equivalent in its first deep drill hole at the Sentazon prospect.

The Sentazon prospect is part of the Hualilan Gold Project in Argentina.

Assays returned the highest grades recorded to date from the deepest hole, returning 2.8 metres at 62.5g/t gold equivalent.

This initial hole is the first of several, designed to test for deeper extensions to the high-grade mineralisation at Sentazon.

Results confirmed the mineralisation at Sentazon remains open at depth and has extended the main Sentazon Manto 50 metres down dip, with a significant increase in the grade encountered compared to that in previous holes.

Drilling also extended the new Footwall Zone 75 metres down dip below previous drilling.

“It is the best grade we have seen so far at Sentazon, from the deepest hole, which is very exciting,” Managing Director of Challenger, Kris Knauer, said.

“We eagerly await the results from our other deep Sentazon holes and are planning another series of deeper step-outs.”

Challenger Exploration’s shares were up 3.85 per cent to trade at 27 cents at 10:18 am AEST.
