Si6 Metals (SI6) has rounded off its maiden air core drilling program at the Monument Gold Project within the Laverton Gold District in WA.

SI6 drilled 126 holes for 4198 metres across 60 targets, with 50 holes intersecting felsic intrusive rocks, including felsic granite, porphyry and granodiorite.

The program was co-funded through the WA Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), which will see the company reimbursed for 50 per cent of direct drilling costs up to $75,000.

Samples have now been sent off for gold and multi-element assay analysis, with end-of-hole samples analysed for whole rock geochemistry to characterise rock type, along with spectral analysis to identify styles of alteration associated with intrusion related gold mineralisation.

Executive Chairman Patrick Holywell said it was a great result to have completed the program in such a swift manner.

“The program was designed to focus on 60 high priority targets and it is a great result to see that over 50 of the 126 holes drilled intersected the high level felsic intrusives we were aiming for,” said Mr Holywell.

The company expects to receive initial results within four weeks.

Si6 Metals was trading steady at 1.3 cents at market open on Tuesday.
