Strategic Energy Resources (SER) has completed diamond drilling at the Kalarka prospect in northwest Queensland.

The Kalarka prospect is part of the Canobie Project which consists of seven exploration licences, covering 1640 square kilometres, and lies 150 kilometres north-northeast of Cloncurry.

Two holes, covering 1574 metres, were drilled to test Kalarka which is characterised by an elevated electromagnetic (EM) response.

Both holes intersected mafic-ultramafic units with dispersed and semi-massive magmatic sulphides.

These holes contain similarities to the nearby Tea-Tree nickel-copper sulphide prospect which has returned a result of 10.4 metres at 0.25 per cent nickel and 0.28 per cent copper.

The diamond core will be orientated, geologically and structurally logged, and have petrophysical measurements taken.

The core will be sampled and assayed for multi-elements including nickel, copper and platinum group elements (PGE) and results are expected in mid-December.

Drilling was co-funded through the Queensland Government Collaboration Exploration Initiative.

Shares in SER were down 4.76 per cent on the market and were trading at 4 cents at 1:16 pm AEDT.
