Black Cat Syndicate’s (BC8) latest results have confirmed high grades in and around its open pit at Fingals Fortune within the Kal East Gold Project in Western Australia.

The company’s infill drilling showed mineralisation in almost every hole drilled, with average grades exceeding the current resource model.

Results from Fingals Fortune included 13 metres at 37.43 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and two metres at 3.14 g/t gold from 168 metres.

The company said reverse circulation drilling also proved there is high-grade mineralisation at depth with the potential for underground mining.

The current resource sits at 3.7 megatonnes at 1.9 g/t gold for 222,000 ounces and, despite Black Cat having drilled more than 40,000 metres, remains open in all directions and at depth.

The company said it expects to have an updated resource estimate due in early December 2021.

“The Fingals Mining Centre represents a significant success story for Black Cat, identifying a consistent high-grade lode where previously it was thought to pinch out,” Black Cat’s Managing Director, Gareth Solly said.

“This project continues to surprise with substantial mineralisation open in all directions that will require ongoing drilling to unlock its full potential.”

Open pit mining at Fingals is planned to follow the completion of the Myhree open pit, with approvals for the open pit expected in the March 2022 quarter.

Black Cat Syndicate last traded at 62 cents on November 15.
