Trek Metals (TKM) has identified multiple base metals targets at the Pincunah project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The targets come from a maiden helicopter-borne electromagnetic (EM) survey recently completed over the project area to define conductive bodies related to massive sulphide mineralisation.

The survey defined 10 zones that had anomalous conductive responses representing volcanogenic massive sulphide copper-zinc-lead, magmatic nickel-copper and intrusive related copper-gold targets.

TKM said it believed the preliminary data supported the prospectivity of the project to host significant discoveries, particularly following the recent mineralisation discovered at the Valley of the Gossans prospect, located within the project.

According to Trek Chief Executive Derek Marshall, several of the new targets were “highly encouraging”.

“One group is located directly along strike from Valley of the Gossans, and another consists of a strong bedrock response across four adjacent flight lines, outlining a very compelling VMS target extending over a strike length of 600 metres.

A drill rig is currently on site following up base metal mineralisation which was defined during the company’s maiden drilling program at Valley of the Gossans earlier this year.

Additionally, TKM is testing a chargeability anomaly located in the centre of the prospect drill area.

In preparation for a maiden down-hole EM survey which is set to commence later this month, the company has secured a contractor and organised a crew. This work will target massive sulphide mineralisation at the main prospect area.

Company shares were trading 8.7 per cent higher for 12.5 cents at 2:24 pm AEDT.
