Carnavale Resources (CAV) has completed its initial program to test the McTavish East prospect at the Kookynie Gold Project in Western Australia.

The initial reverse circulation drilling program was made up of 21 holes for 2987 metres, focusing on the prospect, which is said to host the highest gold grades in the project area.

The program aimed to expand the high-grade gold mineralisation found during previous aircore programs into fresh rock. Previous drilling returned “bonanza” grade gold mineralisation, including four metres at 31.08 grams per tonne (g/t) from 96 metres and two meters at 32.5g/t from 18 metres.

All samples were submitted to the laboratory for analysis with results expected in January 2022.

Carnavale CEO, Humphrey Hale said the company is excited to have finished its first reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at Kookynie.

“This initial RC program was designed to follow up bonanza gold intercepts in geological structures identified in recent aircore programs in the regolith.”

The company said it plans to follow up the initial phase of reverse circulation drilling at McTavish East.

It also intends to return to Kookynie with the reverse circulation rig to further explore the gold discovered at McTavish North once initial results have been received and interpreted.

Carnavale Resources last traded at 0.8 cents at 11:35 am AEDT.
