Drone connectivity solutions company, Elsight (ELS) has received and delivered a commercial order from US-based DroneUp for its Halo product.

The company said the order is equivalent to 80 per cent of the first half of 2021 revenues.

DroneUp placed a commercial order of Elsight’s “Halo” to support their initial fleet of parcel delivery drones. Halo is a communications device that delivers data transmissions and end-to-end connectivity for drones.

Elsight said Halo has been selected by DroneUp for the critical task of controlling drones beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) to ensure connection confidence for drones used in commercial parcel deliveries.

DroneUp has utilised Elsight’s Halo connection technology to complete the end-to-end link between the drone, all communication technologies, the DroneUp field drone hub, and the DroneUp control centre.

ELS said the commercial order confirms its potential for growth within the drone industry.

The company highlighted DroneUp’s growth over the last year sighting its collaboration with Walmart to launch drone deliveries.

ELS believes these successes for DroneUp affirms Elsight’s strong position within the drone parcel delivery arena.

Chief Executive Officer Yoav Amitai said the order from DroneUp confirms the validity of its design-win strategy.

“We are delighted that DroneUp has chosen us to leverage our Halo bonded connectivity solution to ensure absolute connection confidence to their drones for commercial deliveries,” he said.

“Such orders are a great indication for Elsight’s suite of connectivity solutions, and our ability to be a solution provider wherever and whenever businesses need absolute and uncompromised connection confidence.”

Shares charged 10.3 per cent higher today to 43 cents each at 11.20 am AEDT.
