Beam Communications (BCC) has signed a retail partnership agreement with Bapcor’s (BAP) Autobarn.

The deal will see Autobarn stock Beam’s ZOLEO Global Satellite Communicator at its outlets across the country.

Autobarn is Australia’s premium full-service auto accessory retailer with over 130 stores nationwide. The retailer will begin stocking ZOLEO from February.

ZOLEO is a joint venture between Beam and Roadpost Inc. that offers lower cost, consumer-oriented global messaging solutions. The ZOLEO device connects with phones and tablets to provide seamless global messaging that can work both in and out of mobile coverage zones, allowing users to message over satellite, cellular or WiFi.

“We are delighted to include ZOLEO in our product offering as we believe the affordable satellite communications device will appeal to our customer base, particularly the many off-road enthusiasts who have come to depend on us to provide best-in-class products and solutions,” said Jim Lambert, Autobarn’s General Manager of Merchandise.

Beam’s Vice President of ZOLEO Sales, Peter Papas, said the company is excited to partner with another leading Australian retailer for ZOLEO.

“Autobarn is the first national automotive-specialist retailer that will offer the seamless messaging solution, and the automotive industry is another key demographic for ZOLEO,” Mr Papas said.

“Under this new agreement, the number of Australian retail outlets that sell ZOLEO will increase by more than four-fold in the 2022 March quarter to around 440 locations when compared to the same period this year.”

Beam Communications was up 4.71 per cent, trading at 44.5 cents per share at 12:50 pm AEDT.
