Orica (ORI) has appointed Gordon Naylor as an independent, non-executive Director, effective from April 1.

For more than 30 years, Mr Naylor held a range of senior leadership roles at Australia’s leading global biotech company CSL (CSL) including Chief Financial Officer for five years.

He was also President of Seqirus where he led a three-year turnaround of the business into a global influenza vaccines leader.

Orica Chairman Malcolm Broomhead said Mr Naylor would be a strong addition to the board and complement the future strategy of the company.

“He is an experienced business leader with a strong track record in growing businesses in challenging international environments,” he said.

“With his engineering background, and experience in global supply chain and international systems strategy and implementation, Gordon will bring valuable insights into Orica’s growth strategy, manufacturing network and broader operations.”

OIR shares last traded at $15.89.
