Carnavale Resources (CAV) has begun a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Kookynie gold project in Western Australia.

Approximately 5000 metres of RC drilling will be undertaken to target the newly identified high-grade lodes within the McTavish East prospect.

Initial drilling at McTavish East extended the gold mineralisation identified in previous drilling programs into the fresh rock.

This previous drilling also identified a new mineralised structure that has a strike of 250 metres, dips to the east and remains open.

The newest RC drilling program will aim to target extensions to the previous intersections of four metres at 17.82 g/t gold from 78 metres including two metres at 33.55 g/t gold, and 16 metres at 20.92 g/t gold from 161 metres including 10 metres at 31.88 g/t gold.

“CAV has been quick to return to Kookynie to follow up on the impressive high-grade gold identified in the first RC program at McTavish East. The follow-up RC drilling is planned to grow this bonanza grade gold discovery and test other targets,” CEO Humphrey Hale said.

Once drilling wraps up at McTavish East, RC drilling will also be completed at the McTavish North prospect to explore the shallow high-grade gold mineralisation.

Further, an aircore drilling program has been planned to expand McTavish East along the one-kilometre long prospective structure between McTavish East and Champion South in Q2 2022.

Carnavale was up 9.09 per cent on the market with shares closing at 1.2 cents.
