SI6 Metals (SI6) is poised to begin the second round of aircore drilling at its Monument gold project in Western Australia’s Laverton gold district.

The project spans 310 square kilometres and lies within the Laverton Tectonic Zone, which to date has produced more than 30 million ounces of gold.

With approval of its program of works, the company has mobilised field crews to the area to start hole pegging and line clearing.

This phase two program will comprise 140 drill holes for around 5000 metres, to follow up the initial round of aircore drilling undertaken late last year which generated a number of high priority “fertile intrusive” targets.

A number of high priority structural targets, identified from detailed geophysics interpretations will also be tested.

The company expects the work to take around two weeks to complete.

Shares were in the grey and trading at one cent each at 3:44pm AEST.
