Black Cat Syndicate (BC8) is ready to restart grade control drilling at the Myhree prospect within its Kal East gold project in Western Australia.

BC8 said the drilling would ensure the Myhree open pit would be in the “Go Bay” as part of the company’s Kal East development plan.

A reverse circulation drilling rig is now on-site, ready to complete the remaining 50 per cent of grade control drilling over the upper 50 metres of the ore reserve, which will total roughly 4000 metres of drilling.

As part of the program, sterilisation of a potential waste dump location will also be drilled.

Black Cat Managing Director Gareth Solly said having the open pit portion of the deposit in a position to be mined by July 2022 was a significant achievement by the team.

“The current program will complete the remaining grade control drilling to 50 metres depth below surface and will be completed this month,” Mr Solly said.

“A small amount of sterilisation drilling will also be conducted as part of our pre-mining activities around Myhree.”

Black Cat said it expected to wrap up the drilling program this month, with assay results available in July.

Once this drilling has ended, all pre-development drilling at Myhree will be complete.

The company said this would allow mining to begin at Myhree either as part of a toll treatment arrangement or as the first open pit to be developed once the Kal East processing facility was constructed.

Black Cat Syndicate last traded at 39.5 cents on June 9.
