Alkane Resources has received the first batch of assays from its 60,000 metre drilling program at its Tomingley Gold Project in New South Wales.

Results from the San Antonio prospect showed significant gold intersection which includes 36 metres at 5.09 g/t gold from 30 metres.

The Tomingley Gold project covers 440 square kilometres and stretches along north-south of the Newell Highway in New South Wales. The project produces one million tonnes per annum.

Over the past year, Alkane has conducted an exploration program with the hopes to find potential additional resources that could be mined by either open pit or underground mining.

The Roswell, San Antonio and El Pasto prospects have potential to provide gold resources and increase the mine life of Tomingley.

The three prospects have over 2500 metres of combined strike length and are located within eight kilometres of Tomingley.

The drilling program for San Antonio and Roswell prospects began in mid- June this year.

Significant results from San Antonio include 36 metres at 5.09 g/t gold from 30 metres, 39 metres at 3.59 g/t gold from 75 metres, 9.7 metres at 8.01 g/t from 215.3 metres.

Alkane’s other high-priority project is the Dubbo Project, which stands to become a strategic and significant world producer of zirconium, certain rare earths, hafnium and niobium.

San Antonio remains open to the south with significant gold intercepts from the southernmost RC drilling traverse.
