Robotics technology company FBR (FBR) has completed a structure in Wellard using Hadrian X and Wienerberger Porotherm clay blocks.

The build used two Porotherm block types for the external walls and single leaf blocks for the internal walls, representing the first time Wienerberger’s clay blocks have been laid by a robot in a real-world setting.

This build follows the outdoor pilot build completed in November 2021 that demonstrated Hadrian X’s ability to address the European clay-block housing market.

This is the fourth structure to be built in FBR’s portfolio with the fifth and final one expected to be built in the coming months.

Hadrian X speeds up the bricklaying process by using FBR’s stabilisation technology to measure movement caused by wind, vibration and inactivity.

It then counteracts it in real-time by using advanced algorithms to provide precision.

The control system uses computer-aided designs to create a 3D model of the building, essentially telling Hadrian X what to build and what materials it will need.

Shares in FBR were up 1.67 per cent on the market and were trading at 3.1 cents at 12:16 pm AEST.
