Video game developer PlaySide Studios (PLY) has launched its third-party publishing division, PlaySide Publishing.

This new division will support PC and console game developers globally and offer a full range of publishing services for independent developers.

It will also offer marketing and communications, game localisation, quality assurance, and project funding support.

“We are thrilled to introduce our publishing division and provide best practice and support indie game developers bringing their games to the PC and console market, both in Australia and globally,” CEO Gerry Sakkas said.

“After ten years of developing our own high-quality titles including original IP and third-party projects with the likes of Meta, Disney, and Warner Bros, we have the capabilities and experience to understand the key opportunities and challenges involved in game development.”

PlaySide has hired senior leaders from multiple global publishing companies such as Team 17, Activision Blizzard and Rockstar Games to lead PlaySide Publishing.

Harley Homewood has joined as Global Head of Publishing. Michael McAlister has joined as Global Head of Marketing & Communications, and Jordan Cameron has joined as Global Senior Communications Manager.

“We are commencing a new era for PlaySide Studios, supporting developers in their vision to launch new, industry-leading experiences fans will come to love,” Mr Homewood commented.

PlaySide was up 4.62 per cent with shares trading at 68 cents on market close.
