Emmerson Resources (ERM) has struck further high-grade copper-gold and cobalt-bismuth at the Hermitage discovery within its Tennant Creek project area in the Northern Territory.

The company’s phase two diamond and reverse circulation drilling program aimed to support the emerging copper-gold discovery by building on previous high-grade results and expanding the potential down-plunge beneath the fault.

Emmerson said the results “exceeded expectations”, with intersections including 94.4 metres at 2.74 per cent copper, 5.58 grams of gold per tonne (g/t gold), 17.88 g/t silver and 0.44 per cent bismuth from 85 metres. This hit included a 17.8-metre intersection at 1.57 per cent copper, 0.22 g/t gold, 0.17 per cent cobalt, 0.11 per cent bismuth.

“This phase two drill program has exceeded expectations in terms of confirming the initial high grade copper discovery with the addition of high-grade gold, cobalt, and bismuth,” Emmerson Managing Director Rob Bills said.

“Encouragingly, the gold, silver and bismuth grades increase with depth, with the best intersection being immediately above and truncated by the fault, with potential to extend these grades with further drilling below the fault.”

Mr Bills said once Emmerson had received receipt of the final assays in this program, it would update the geological model at the project.

The company will then plan further drilling to test the extent of the high-grade mineralisation, particularly beneath the fault.

Emmerson Resources last traded at 11 cents on August 16.
