Emmerson Resources (ERM) has struck further high-grade copper-gold at the Hermitage discovery within its project at Tennant Creek, Northern Territory.

The company’s phase two drilling program was designed to build on previous high-grade results and extend the strike of ironstone-hosted copper-gold mineralisation to the north of the central ironstone.

Highlights from the program included 12 metres at 3.39 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 3.04 per cent copper from 172 metres, including three metres at 12.51 g/t gold and 2.95 per cent copper from 181 metres.

Further results included six metres at 1.88 g/t gold, 0.83 per cent copper and 0.11 per cent bismuth from 105 metres, which included three metres at 3.67g/t gold, 1.38 per cent copper and 0.21 per cent bismuth from 105 metres.

Emmerson Managing Director Rob Bills said with the new assay results from the phase two program in hand, it was apparent that Hermitage was on-scale with many of the major historical discoveries in the Tennant Creek Mineral Field.

“Encouragingly, this phase two drilling indicates that the gold, copper, and bismuth grades increase with depth and remain open in all directions,” Rob Bills said.

“The addition of cobalt and bismuth to the copper and gold at Hermitage adds to the inventory of future-facing metals relevant to the battery, superconductor, magnet, and 3D printing suite of metals.”

The company said its next steps for the project would include down-hole geophysics and a compilation of all data to target the ultra-high-grade, down-plunge extent of the central ironstone at Hermitage.

Emmerson Resources was down 10 per cent and trading at 8.1 cents at 12:45 pm AEST.
