Minerals explorer Uvre (UVA) has kicked off drilling at the Bonanza prospect within its East Canyon project in south-eastern Utah.

After drilling an initial 11 holes at the None Such prospect, the focus has moved to Bonanza to test extensions to uranium and vanadium observed and sampled within historical workings at East Canyon.

Samples from the previous exploration work returned up to 1.27 per cent uranium oxide and 9.21 per cent vanadium oxide.

Diamond core and rotary drilling rig have begun targeting shallow mineralisation at average depths of 50 metres.

Up to 25 drill holes are permitted, however, the total number may change upon results observed and obtained as drilling proceeds.

The start of drilling follows yesterday’s announcement of newly identified potential for rare earth elements at East Canyon recorded via pXRF data received from drill core.

Uvre shares were up 7.69 per cent to trade at 14 cents at 3:23 pm AEDT.
