Splitit Payments (SPT) has penned an agreement to add payment instalments services to the Google Store beyond its current Japanese offerings

This expanded agreement will allow Splitit’s instalments-as-a-service offering to be added to the Google Store in Australia, Canada, and the US.

The new deal is set to remain in full force for a one-year term, with the potential to be renewed automatically for successive periods of one year

Splitit said the economic materiality of the expanded agreement was at this stage unknown due to the “variable nature of revenues” that are dependent on customer uptake of specific products.

However, it said extending its Google partnership could have a “material” impact on its own brand and business development prospects.

Splitit signed an initial deal with Google and its affiliates in January 2021 for its payment solutions to be released in Japan, before going live in April of that year.

Shares in Splitit Payments are up 5.56 per cent and trading at 20 cents at 11:17 am AEDT.
