Metals Australia has reported intersections of high-grade graphite at its Quebec, Canada project.

Six drill holes, from the maiden drilling campaign, show multiple thick graphite zones near the surface at the company’s fully owned ‘Lac Rainy Graphite’ project.

The north-western strikes showed the largest readings of thickness reaching up to 75.2 meters, 63.4 meters, and 47.72 meters.

Lower thickness readings were 11 meters, four meters, and three meters.

From the six drill holes, twelve intersections of graphite in total were uncovered. A total of 11 drill holes on site now exist.

Metals Australia Director Gino D’Anna says the company has faith in Lac Rainy to be a consistent world-class high-grade graphite deposit.

“Our initial samples have been delivered to the assay laboratory, and once those results are received, a further program of detailed metallurgical and mineralogical test work will be completed on selected samples,”

“This advanced metallurgical work will underpin our continued discussions with potential end-user groups. Given the strategic location of the Lac Rainy project, our focus is on defining potential end-user groups across North America,” said D’anna.

Mining at the project began on April first.
