SciDev has been awarded a three-year sales contract by Iluka Resources for its MaxiFlox chemistry.

SciDev is a leader in the development and application of both chemistry and process control for solids-liquid separation. The company’s “next-generation” technologies and capabilities can solve operational and environment issues for the minerals processing, tailings, water treatment, and oil and gas markets.

MaxiFlox products are supplied in both liquid and powder form. Commonly paired with the OptiFlox control technology, MaxiFlox specialises in the treatment of wastewater across industrial sectors at a cost-efficient rate.

Under the contract, SciDev will supply and service its MaxiFlox chemistry products at Iluka’s flagship Jacinth-Ambrosia site.

Iluka’s Jacinth-Ambrosia operation is located in South Australia and is the world’s largest zircon mine. SciDev’s MaxiFlox chemistry will assist in the separation process at the zircon project.

SciDev Managing Director and CEO Lewis Utting is pleased to have won this contract with Iluka Resources.

“This agreement is further validation of the commercial utility of our MaxiFlox chemistry in the mine tailings space. Just as importantly, it highlights the calibre of the SciDev team in executing the technical and commercial evaluations over an extended period with a tier one Australian mining company,” Lewis said.

The annual value of the contract over term is estimated to be between AUD$2.6 million and $4 million.

Initially, SciDev will solely supply MaxiFlox. However, discussions are underway to integrate the OptiFlox system into the Jacinth-Ambrosia operation.
