  • First hole drilled at Exore Resources’ Veronique gold discovery has returned high-grade gold

  • A more extensive diamond core and reverse circulation drill will be undertaken later in the year

Exore Resources has announced that its first hole drilled at the Veronique discovery returned high-grade, free-milling gold.

A single diamond drill hole completed at Veronique returned a result of 8 metres at 7.74g/t gold from 78 metres and a gold extraction rate of 90 per cent from unoptimised baseline cyanide leaching.

This hole is located beneath a well developed zone of weathering that extends to a depth of 70 metres.

Gold mineralisation at Veronique is hosted by zones of quartz veining and sericite alteration. Pyrite is the dominant visible sulphide and is accompanied by minor visible gold.

“Veronique is shaping up as a high-grade gold discovery with exciting scale potential given the extent of the high tenure gold in soil anomalism over 8 kilometres by 2 kilometres,” Managing Director Justin Tremain said.

Recent broad spaced air-core (AC) drill traverses successfully intersected high-grade gold mineralisation across multiple lodes of WNW striking gold mineralisation.

The AC drilling identified at least five sub-parallel zones of WNW striking gold mineralisation with each of the zones intersecting strike lengths over 1000 metres.

A single diamond hole was designed to test for down dip extensions of high-grade gold mineralisation into the fresh rock to provide further geological information.

This will assist in future drill hole planning and to provide further geological information for samples for preliminary metallurgical test work.

AC drilling will now continue at Veronique over the next couple of months to tighten the spacing of AC traverses to 50-100 metres before undertaking a more extensive diamond core and reverse circulation drill later in the year.

“Exore’s exploration efforts will be focused primarily on Veronique over the coming 6-12 months, along with some further drilling targeting additional shallow oxide gold mineralisation at the Antoinette area just 12 kilometres to the north,” Justin added.
