PlaySide Studios (ASX:PLY) has secured a landmark multi-game license agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.

The deal marks years spent by PlaySide in building strong relationships with Hollywood studios and honing its PC/Console development expertise.

Under the terms of the agreement, Warner Bros. will grant PlaySide access to a highly recognisable intellectual property (IP) for the creation of two PC/Console games.

Development on the first title will begin immediately, with a joint announcement unveiling both the IP and game details expected in the first half of 2024.

The financial terms involve PlaySide making several license payments to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment during development, followed by ongoing royalties based on game revenue throughout the agreement’s five-year lifespan, extending beyond the release of the second title.

“We are huge fans of the IP we are working with and are thrilled to be entrusted with the task of bringing it to life for other fans,” PlaySide CEO Gerry Sakkas said.

This agreement aligns with PlaySide’s strategic focus on developing larger titles and solidifies the company’s industry growth and recognition.

PLY last traded at 57 cents.
